Sheerah, the Woman who Built

First Chronicles 7 is another list of interesting characters that we can learn from. This particular chapter lists Ephraim’s descendants, along with his deep sorrow at the death of his two sons, who were killed while trying to steal livestock. In the midst of the sons of this family, we stumble upon a woman named Sheerah.

 

The Biblical text tells us that Sheerah built villages in the land of Canaan. Villages that became infamous, villages whose stones still stand to this very day. Her legacy stretches beyond the Biblical narrative, in to our own lives today. Her example is rich and far – reaching, this teaching looks at this special woman named Sheerah and questions us about our own legacy.
