The Depth of Yom Kippur

Yom Kippur has begun! So this week, Aliyah and Yosef reflect on the very real difference between forgiveness and atonement. Although tradition and teaching has merged the two concepts, they are in fact very different. They also discuss collective atonement and the gap in the Yom Kippur service that makes space for the incense offering. Digging into the spices in the incense offering, they present the symbolisms in each one as it applies to atonement. It’s a full, beautiful broadcast that will bless you as you enter this holy feast.

Stand Resolute

Surrounded by threats and enemies, Nehemiah continued to do the great work of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, just as Yahweh commanded him to. He was undeterred, but sometimes fearful at the many threats spoken against his life. Among those who spoke against him and threatened him was a prophetess named Noadiah and other prominent prophets among Gods people.
In this weeks Coffee Break, Aliyah and Yosef dive in to these passages of scripture pulling out gems and deep spiritual truths for today’s remnant. They look at what could have upset the prophets, how defiled the people had become and why it’s important to have a black and white viewpoint of truth.
