Our First Fruits Offering this Shavuot

The leaves are pushing from the thick branches and the fresh scent of blossoms fill the air. Spring time brings with it a blossoming of fruits, a newness from the trees. The promise of new life and fresh harvest in the months to come. YHWH’s goodness and faithfulness was seen in the trees every spring, as they blosssomed and budded every Israelite would remember how the Elohim of Israel had promised them a land filled with different species of fruit and how He had fulfilled that promise. And every Shavuot was a chance to rejoice before YHWH at His temple, and offer the first fruits, the first promise of harvest, at the steps of the altar. It was such a festival of joy and anticipation. Seven species of first fruits were presented to God and each one of these first fruits speaks to our own hearts, to our own lives and to the Redemptive work of Messiah Yeshua.
