Joshua 15 shares in just four verses, a moving account of a fathers love for his daughter. Few passages and moments like this exist in the biblical narratives, but when they do, they teach us great truths that filter down in to our own relationship with our Heavenly Father.
Caleb was a battle – hardened man, with scarred arms and a pure heart. He was a warrior, a soldier, a child of God and he was also a father. His heart trembled at the sight of his beloved daughter, his first – born, his Achsah. Knowing she had to marry, he wanted her to be safe. He wanted her to have everything she would need to make it through life. So he ensured that her hand was won only by the most worthy groom and he endowed upon her, great portions of land as an eternal inheritance in Judah.
This teaching is a message. A message to the daughters of God, a message about the Love of Yahweh to His children. A message that echoes the prayer of Paul, may you come to know how high, how deep, how wide and how long is Messiah’s Love for you today.
Shalom in Yeshua, Aliyah bat Yisrael
