Writing a Ruach – inspired book takes strength. Watching it move through the editing process, the design and print process, then marketing, that takes courage and bravery. I have learned that when a pen touches paper it can be an art called war. Some warriors fight on their knees, with their mouths, in the streets and some are called to fight with the javelin of the pen. Writing about a heroine who fought a vicious enemy was truly a blessing and I want to say thank you to everyone who has shared their stories with me, their pictures with me and most of all, thank you for allowing this Yeshua – birthed book to change your life. Yehudit, Chosen by God is a story from the Old Testament apocrypha, that focuses on a young Israelite widow named Yehudit. She doesn’t start out as a widow, rather she is deeply in love with a wonderful, gentle, passionate man named Manasseh. He is so in love with her, his entire being is wrapped up in her, but death tears at their short marriage and Yehudit is thrown in to a cage of darkness and despair. When a fierce army led by the proud general and prince of Babylon, Holofernes marches to destroy the people of God, Abba Yahweh calls to this daughter of Israel and she is faced with a life threatening choice. To march in to battle or remain defeated in grief, her choice will change the future for both herself and her people……
As I paged through the story of Yehudit this weekend, I was struck afresh by Manasseh’s devoted love for his bride, a love that remained even after his death. This weekend ushered in the new month of Elul, the month known as the time of introspection and reflection. In a few short weeks we will reach the Fall Feasts, but this month of introspection has been given to us in love. In love we can reach out to the Father and seek His forgiveness and guidance, with Mercy He responds to that cry for forgiveness and with Tenderness, He restores our souls so that we may walk before Him. On a deeper level I cannot help but feel that mankind as a whole, has reached Elul on Yahweh’s calendar. As we stand at the door of His Son’s return, our lives need to be lived in daily reflection and surrender to the Great I am. As much as Yehudit’s book is really a love story between a woman and her God, so too our time here on earth has been given to us so that we can fall in Love with the One who gave it all. Don’t miss this opportunity, don’t pass it by, because our Beloved is standing in the field about to return for His bride with a beating heart and a love that died for you….
