They say love is the greatest risk of all. It is a greater risk than trading shares on the stock market, greater then traversing shark-infested waters in a little canvas lifeboat. It is a risk so great with no guaranteed outcomes. The world is a shallow, fickle place where people tend to fall out of love quicker then they fell in love. Love has become a word, not an action of the will or heart. People also love what they can control, that is why money seems a worthy object of affection for many. Money seems to stay with some people longer than their spouses do and many find they can control their bank books but not their other half. While I may have painted the bleak worldly system out there, I want to comfort you to hold on here, we are going somewhere! Love the greatest risk. The human capacity for love is an amazing phenomenon, love is in itself truly beautiful because real love is a character of the Beloved, Yeshua.

Many of you will reach this fall season and although the call to repent and change will echo out and shatter the spiritual atmosphere, many more of you will leave unchanged. In prayer this morning Yeshua told me something really beautiful, but really important. A lesson that could take a lifetime to learn. The reason many people do not ever change their hearts and lives is because they will never risk it all on loving Yeshua. Loving Yeshua is not about getting saved, reading your Bible every day and having your half an hour quiet time that keeps you from feeling guilty. Truly loving Yeshua is supposed to be the kind of love that you would move mountains for, the kind of love that compels you to travel across borders for, or the kind of love that leaves you completely open. The reason people cannot love is because they are so hurt inside. They are hurt because of divorce (the biggest factor!), abuse from their parents, family members and spouses (the second biggest factor), they are hurt because of disappointments, bad judgments, rejections – the list is endless! But all of these factors causes the heart to become weary and because we are human beings whose number one aim in life is often just to survive, humans can quickly enter survival mode in their emotions and in their feelings. In days gone by, human beings killed one another in order to survive, today people kill each other emotionally just to survive. We may no longer have to fight for daily food like the cave man, but mankind has reverted to cave man mentality to fight for daily emotional survival. Look at the world around you, it is a scary place and it has made risking it all on God, a very scary thing for many. People live their whole lives avoiding risks, that’s why retirement schemes, pension funds, life insurance and the like, has become important stalwarts of life.

But to live a life of faith requires crawling out from under the worldly mentality and conforming to a spiritual reality. Our spirit walk with Yahweh is in complete opposition to the world out there. A major foundation stone in our house of faith, requires risking it all on Loving Yeshua. Walls that surround the heart create a fortress that keep you locked in and God locked firmly out. If you cannot fall hopelessly in love with Yeshua, then perhaps your heart is still fearful to love.

1 John 4: 18 – 19

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
We love because he first loved us.

Yes many people have never known real love because their parents failed them or their families let them down, or their spouses left them. This is the harsh reality of the sin in people’s hearts and minds but it should not (and cannot) keep you from the heart of Yeshua. Now is not the time to stay rooted in pain, self-righteousness, pride and pity, now is the time to get it sorted out. The Love we are to have in our hearts for Yeshua, is the love we have as blushing brides on our wedding day. If we cannot love Yeshua with a greater capacity then the love we had for our spouses on our wedding day, then we are not worthy to be called His bride. Ephesians 5 has long being used by the Church as a blueprint for marriage, however they seem to have missed verse 32, which distinctly articulates that the entire chapter is in fact a mystery regarding the love relationship between Yeshua and His called out people, His bride.

Change requires time, it requires effort and reckless abandonment. Imagine you are Christopher Columbus with a small map and a bronze compass, with no plan but only the hope that your ship will one day reach a land to which no one has yet travelled. This is the hope in the hearts of travellers. The life of a seaman who hopes for something more. We are all travellers in this
walk on earth, we should be willing to risk our hearts, our lives, our commodities and our very last breath on travelling to a place with Yeshua where no one else has been before. If you are unsure of your own hearts commitment to the King, perhaps it’s time to stop focusing on your yearly ritual of keeping the fall feasts and actually getting down on the floor and asking, Father, am I willing to risk it all on Love or am I actually afraid? It’s time to get real, stop counting the cost – throw it all in, because everything is all He requires of us…..

Deuteronomy 6: 4 -6

Listen Oh Israel, Yahweh is our God, Yahweh alone.
And you must love Yahweh your God will all your heart, all your soul and al your strength.
And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands
I am giving you today!
