We live in a time of great truth, a time as the Prophet Daniel said of increased knowledge. Unfortunately with all good things come bad things. Society in itself can testify of the great advances that have been made with new technology, but at the same time can tell of many lives lost for the sake of advance. Today man seeks the knowledge of the God not the God of the Knowledge. Paul says this gospel is a mystery that is revealed to those who seek out Yeshua not knowledge. But what exactly is knowledge? The Oxford dictionary explains it this way:

Knowledge:
1. The state or fact of knowing.
2. Familiarity, awareness, or understanding gained through experience or study.
3. The sum or range of what has been perceived, discovered, or learned.
4. Learning; erudition: teachers of great knowledge.
5. Specific information about something.
6. Carnal knowledge.
More and more today we see how society has pushed the pursuit of knowledge. The more you know the better of you are. The problem is that knowledge does not gain you access into the Kingdom of YHVH. On the contrary the Bible says that knowledge puffs up.
1Co 8:1 And concerning foodoffered to idols: We know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up.
More and more I hear from others in the faith that there is an increase in the area for knowledge. Everyone wants to be a teacher. Jas 3:1 Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, knowing that we shall receive greater judgment.

What has happened? As I sat and prayed about this YHVH began to speak to me.
What makes messianic different to those in the church? Is it the fact that we keep the festivals and Sabbaths of YHVH? Maybe but does this then protect us from evil or from pride or from becoming so interested in what we can learn and forget to love one another in brotherly love?
1 Corinthians 13 says clearly that you can have all knowledge and all kinds of gifts but if you don’t have love you are like a clanging symbol.
Is it right that we as believers are striving to know as much as we can and to learn as much as possible from as many places as we can. I am not saying to you don’t study. If you are studying to advance the Kingdom of YHVH and you want to prepare then by all means do it. But do it so you can help others to see the same truth you have seen. But unfortunately today messianic and Christians alike are studying seemingly to know more than others.
When you ask them to come to a prayer meeting the response is, it’s okay I pray at home! All through the book of Acts the one thing that is evident is the gathering together to pray and to fellowship. Torah group studies, is not for you to flex your knowledge muscles or to see how much more you know then your teacher.
As I was writing Yeshua lead me to the book of Jude. Jude the half brother of Yeshua wrote his epistle with a central theme that of combating the ever growing interest in Gnosticism. ((Greek: γνῶσις gnōsis, knowledge). The doctrine of salvation by knowledge. This definition, based on the etymology of the word (gnosis“knowledge”, gnostikos, “good at knowing”), is correct as far as it goes, but it gives only one, though perhaps the predominant, characteristic of Gnostic systems of thought. Whereas Judaism and Christianity, and almost all pagan systems, hold that the soul attains its proper end by obedience of mind and will to the Supreme Power, i.e. by faith and works, it is markedly peculiar to Gnosticism that it places the salvation of the soul merely in the possession of a quasi-intuitive knowledge of the mysteries of the universe and of magic formulae indicative of that knowledge. Gnostics were “people who knew“, and their knowledge at once constituted them a superior class of beings, whose present and future status was essentially different from that of those who, for whatever reason, did not know. (Mostert, 1998, 448)
Now the truth is that Gnosticism is a very deep and intricate religion, but today unfortunately it has found its roots back into many teachings, philosophical ideas and even in everyday life. Today you hear more and more the phrase” Knowledge is everything”.
We as believers are to be careful not to be pulled into the pursuit of knowing. There is nothing wrong in wanting to understand the deeper things of YHVH’s word. But when we desire to have knowledge over the spirit of YHVH then we need to understand that we are heading for very dangerous ground. Today many are seeking knowledge and the truth is that it is easy to get it. Today the internet makes it so easy to gain the understanding you need. But as I said before is this kind of knowledge what Yeshua wants his Bride to have?
Jude makes a clear point in his letter:
Jud 1:18
Because they told you that there would be mockers in the last time that would walk according to their own wicked lusts.
Jud 1:19 These are the ones who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.
Jud 1:20 But you, beloved ones, building yourselves up on your most set-apart belief, praying in the Set-apart Spirit,
Jud 1:21 keep yourselves in the love of Elohim, looking for the compassion of our Master יהושע Messiah unto everlasting life.
It is time that you and I seek the master while he may be found and the only way you and I do that is through prayer. Pro 9:10 the fear of יהוה is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Set-apart One is understanding1. Footnote: See 1:7.
My father said to me once something that has stuck with me my entire life. He said son you don’t always have to make your point known even if someone else is wrong. Pray for them to see the truth.
The truth is that where the spirit of YHVH is there is liberty and freedom not condemnation and strife. Cut out the competition and seek YHVH with all your heart.
2Ti 3:1 But know this, that in the last days hard times shall come.
2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, thankless, wrong-doers,
2Ti 3:3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, haters of good,
2Ti 3:4 betrayers, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of Elohim,
2Ti 3:5 having a form of reverence1 but denying its power. And turn away from these! Footnote: 1See v. 13, Isa. 24:5-6, Mt. 24:12, Rom. 1:30-31, 2 Thess. 2:3-11.
